Colorado Shijay Center

The Colorado Shijay and Chod Group began in 2016 when Lama Kunsang Thongdo Dojee agreed to come to Boulder, Colorado with Lama Wangdu Rinpoche’s blessing. Since that time we met with Lama Wangdu Rinpoche in Portland and California, prior to his passing. Over the past 10 years, the Colorado group has regularly engaged in the practices of Shijay, Chöd and the Longchen Nyingthig as transmitted by Lama Wangdu Rinpoche and his student Lama Kunsang Thongdo Dojee. At present the sangha meets weekly in the Boulder area offering healing Chöd for community, and engaging in dharma study and reflection. The group is now established as a 501c3 Religious non-profit, with aspirations to engage in charity projects, lineage, cultural, and textual preservation projects, as well as keeping Rinpoche’s lineage of practices preserved.
The Sangha, having the strong presence of American yogis also represents a new wave of Buddhist practice in the west. We bridge Tibetan/American Buddhism, aspiring to take the Pacification of Suffering and Severance teachings to heart in the same way Rinpoche and Lama KTD have demonstrated. We have deep gratitude and thanks for Rinpoche’s legacy of blessing. We also have deep unending gratitude for the continued guidance of Lama Kunsang Thongdo Dojee, who with exemplary quality has demonstrated real compassion and wisdom with all of us, helping us to ripen and grow.
